Philmount bound….

After more than a year and half of anticipation, planning, hikes, and equipment checks – Troop 35’s 2015 Philmont crew embarked on their journey Wednesday afternoon at the Naperville Amtrak train station.

the crew – left to right: Jonah, William, Steven, Gus, Ryley, Noah, Mrs. Zeller, Danny, Mr Hjellming, and Mr. Miller

Family members were at the station to wish the crew a proper bon voyage. They arrive Thursday and are on the trail Friday. They are going to have the trip of a lifetime and for Mr. Miller, it’s a homecoming of sorts – he attended Philmont as a scout and worked three summers as a Philmont ranger.

NOTE: Post was updated Saturday morning when the last photo arrived – can you guess which photo was added? The troop embarks Saturday afternoon at 1:45 MDT. Can;t wait to hear the stories.

You can follow the weather in the sidebar – it’s Cimarron, New Mexico and for the next 12 days they’ll be living the dream. Look for a couple of posts with photos in the coming days and all sorts of tales when they return!

Happy Trails!

Happy Trails....
