Troop 35’s latest adventure: scouts sleep underwater

Scouts from Troop 35 went on a different kind of campout—they traded their tents for the bunks on a submarine. The boys learned about the USS Silversides, a World War II submarine docked at the Great Lakes Naval Memorial and Museum in Muskegon, Mich. Scouts toured the sub and museum, they took down the flags, and some scouts even slept in the torpedo room, underwater. Scouts not only learned lessons of history, but they now have a new appreciation for the people who serve our country.
