NYLT – 2013
The Boy Scouts are about developing tomorrow’s leaders. Just ask the first seven astronauts, or check out this list- Famous Boy Scouts, or, ask a community leader or business owner, chances are they were a Boy Scout, at one time, some even made it to Eagle.
Every summer, Troop 35 sends developing leaders to National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) at Thunderbird near Rochelle, Illinois. It is a seven-day week filled with intense training and learning where scouts experience the patrol method firsthand. This year’s scouts are Chris and Will. The training provides scouts the experience of learning while doing and then bringing back the learning to the troop. Previous NYLT attendees have gone on to be Senior Patrol Leaders, Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, and Patrol leaders as well as attain the Eagle Scout rank. Wish them well.

That’s awesome. I can’t wait to hear the leadership ideas they come back with to help keep Troop 35 strong!
Way to go Scouts,
Mr. Cat.
