Troop 35 and Gary United Methodist Church recognized Jim Whitlock for his service to scouting as former scoutmaster and our charter representative. Jim and his wife, Linda, are moving to Colorado. We wish Jim well in his new adventures.

in the center surrounded by some of Jim’s scouting family are Jim his wife, Linda, and his daughter, Joy.

thank you for your service Mr. Whitlock

At the end of the service when Pastor Jamie addressed the congregation, He asked those who had been involved in scouting to stand up – more than half of the congregation stood. Impressive.

Mr. Whitlock was humble in his response, “I always got more back from scouting, than I put in.”

We will remember Mr. Whitlock for the number of young men and adults he influenced during his tenure with Troop 35 and wish him luck in his future endeavors.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Indeed.

Thank you Jim.
