Troop 35 is the place to be!

Scouts of Troop 35 you do NOT want to miss these upcoming events!

Cabin Camping this weekend!

Who:       Anyone and everyone who is a Boy Scout in Troop 35 – whether for a few years or a few days!
What:     Join us for a fantastic camping experience inside a cabin – or outside in a tent for those who want to earn their “Polor Bear” badge/certificate!
Where:   Hoover Forest Preserve in Yorkville – just a short distance from home!

When:     6pm Friday, January 23rd to 1pm Sunday, January 25th (YES – THIS FRIDAY!)

Why:       To have the time of your life! We’ll work on advancements, cook in dutch ovens, go for a hike perhaps, or have fun in the snow if there is any. It will be fun – you won’t want to miss it!

 

Klondike at Cantigny!

Who:       Again anyone and everyone who is a Boy Scout in Troop 35 – whether for a few years or a few days!

What:     Klondike at Cantigny – a council lead event where the boys compete to complete different tasks at different stations – we will be using our patrol sleds!

Where:   Cantigny

When:     Camp overnight on Friday, January 30th, or join us on Saturday morning, January 31st (Times and places TBD by Tuesday’s meeting January 27th)

Why:       Because it’s a blast and who doesn’t like a little friendly competition among troops? Troop 35 needs your help to win!

 

Submarine overnight and Winter Luge!

Who:       All scouts – reservations needed – there are still a few open slots – contact Mr. Armstrong to sign up now!

What:     Luge sledding (boys did it last year and had a blast – will Mrs. Bielik come back for a rematch?) and then spend the night in an actual submarine!

Where:   Muskegon, Michigan

When:     8am Saturday, February 28th to 1:30pm Sunday, February 29th

Why:       This will be an experience of a lifetime to sleep on a Submarine, and to fulfill your dreams of being an Olympic Luge competitor – all in the same weekend!

 

Merit Badge University!

Who:       Any Scout wanting to earn Merit Badges to help him achieve his next Rank advancement – don’t forget you need a total of 21 to become an Eagle Scout!

What:     Merit Badge University – a day-long event where scouts can take up to 4 classes to earn 4 merit badges. Sign up online via the link provided by Mrs. Leonard. Please be aware that some merit badges will have pre-requisites that need to be completed before going. And you will need to get a blue card signed by Mr. Peterson or another Assistant Scoutmaster.

Where:   York High School in Elmhurst

Why:       To earn 1, 2, 3 or 4 merit badges in one day! Why not?!
