Scouts serve at “Pull-Up Bars for Patriots”

Troop 35 led the Pledge of Allegiance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inaugural Pull-Up Bars for Patriots memorial at Rathje Park in Wheaton. The permanent memorial honors LCpl. Nicholas Larson, a United States Marine who died for his country. Larson grew up in a house across the street from Rathje Park and loved to play there as a child. He also served as a Boy Scout before becoming a Marine.

Pull-Up Bars for Patriots is a non-profit organization that hopes to establish permanent memorials by raising sets of pull-up bars to honor fallen service members while encouraging physical fitness in communities across the United States. Troop 35 was honored to be part of the ceremony for the first Pull-Up Bars for Patriots memorial.
