Summer Adventures

Troop 35 has a busy summer planned!

A crew of 8 heads to The High Adventure Florida Sea Base Sunday, June 9th. The Scouts will spend a glorious week in the Florida Keys on a scuba adventure. The  Scouts are all scuba certified and will spend the week scuba diving in the pristine waters of the Florida Keys.

Next up will be the Troop’s week of summer camp at  Tesomas Scout Camp in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. A week of  learning Scouting skills, advancements and merit badges will go along with camping in the northwoods and a week of fun, sun, water, shooting and friendship. Oh, yea, don’t forget slushies! We all can’t wait to hear the stories upon their return! Stay tuned for Blog updates.

In July, another Troop 35 contingent will spend 10 days at the National Jamboree at The Summit Bechtel  Scout Reservation in West Virginia. The Summit is the newest High Adventure Base for the Boy Scouts. The days at Summit will be spent biking, hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, enjoying the great outdoors and meeting Scouts from all over the country. Jamboree is the Premier Scouting gathering in the U.S. held every four years.

Remember, a Scout is Thrifty! The fine young Scouts attending the High Adventure Trips this summer have sold lots and lots of wreaths to pay their own way. When you listen to their stories upon their return, make sure you ask about how Wreath Sales funded their adventures! It all started with a knock on a door! Opportunity truly does knock (or rings the doorbell)!
